Add Budget Bandit to your home screen

There's no app in the App Store or Google Play yet. Add the website to your home screen instead: it opens full screen like an app, and works offline.

iPhone and iPad

In Safari:

  1. Open budgetbandit.app/app. Don't sign in yet: the app on your home screen keeps its own sign-in, apart from Safari.
  2. Tap Share. If you don't see it, tap first.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen. You may need to scroll down or tap View More to find it.
  4. Leave Open as Web App on, and tap Add.

Then open it from your home screen

  1. Enter your email and tap Send link. Type the 6-digit code from the email, since the link in it opens Safari instead.
  2. If it asks to unlock your budget, type your passphrase. Or, on a device that already has your budget, open Settings › Household › Add a device, then tap Scan the code on your phone and point it at the screen.

In Chrome, Edge or Firefox on iPhone, Share is in the address bar. The rest is the same.

Android

In Chrome:

  1. Open budgetbandit.app/app and sign in.
  2. Tap at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to home screen, then Install. Some versions say Install app instead.
  4. Open Budget Bandit from your home screen. It's already signed in and unlocked.

In Samsung Internet, tap Menu, then Add page to › Home screen.

Mac, Windows or Linux

In Chrome or Edge:

  1. Open budgetbandit.app/app and sign in.
  2. Click Install at the right end of the address bar, then Install.
  3. Budget Bandit opens in its own window, and you can keep it in your Dock or taskbar. It's already signed in and unlocked.

If the button isn't there, open the browser's menu: in Chrome Cast, save and share › Install page as app, in Edge Apps › Install this site as an app.

In Safari on a Mac, choose File › Add to Dock. Like on iPhone, the new app may ask you to sign in and unlock your budget again.
